This one is good. I’d expect nothing less from Ridley Scott. He’s brilliant at keeping my attention.

Guilt by association. Yikes. That’s just plain freaky. I’ve always considered it easy it is to make things seem different than what they really are, but this is; wow. It’s just too easy to do something like what they do in the movie. Even if the consequenses are not quite the same, it’s still disturbing.

It’s a really engaging movie, I highly recommend it.

It’s odd how I kept watching that movie. It’s one of those typical thrillers where you’re given clues every other scene. Not one of those clever movies where the plot sneaks up on you.

I kept going, either this could happen, or that could happen. And this happened or that happened. I’d have preferred neither happened. But then it could also be that I’m way too smart to not see where the plot is going. :P

The only thing that I really loved about the movie is the setting. A long ass train ride from China through Russia. And I could watch any movie that’s set on a train, any day, no matter how silly it is. Not to say this movie was silly…

It had its moments, just too few and far between.

As the title implies, the movie has to with luck, and that too by chance. I like movies that get me thinking as much as I like movies made exclusively to entertain. Everything in between, I love.

It entertains, it gets you thinking, it looks good, sounds good, and ends abruptly. It’s an interesting addition to the long line of films that cleverly blend the lines between reality and fantasy. Actually, it’s film that feels completely realistic. It’s just that it’s set around a world that tends to be fantastical even in real life.

There are many reasons why I like this movie. It gives us a sense of how it all done. And I always love to know how things are done. It got great background score. I always love good music. It asks the right questions. It’s got great style, not unique or mind blowing, but nothing awkward to distract from what’s going on in the movie. It’s got a great cast. Even the cameos are well done and doesn’t make you want to squirm at an obvious attempt to boost publicity.

But even if all that were good, what I really like is the way it contradicts events that conspire in the movie to ask you to do what Harvey Dent does using his father’s lucky coin.

Make your own luck.
